While police believed Williams may have been behind the child murders as well, they were unable to charge him for those murders due to a lack of evidence. In 1981, a former club promoter named Wayne Williams was arrested and ultimately convicted in the murders of two adults, after police matched fibers found on the men’s bodies to those from Williams’ home and car.
